I just got a call back from the nice lady at AT&T licensing. Apparently, prayers and/or appeals to netter nature/greed still do work; AT&T has re-released honey-danber(aka BNU) somewhat more cheaply than the first go around. The new price structure is $3K for first source license, $1k thereafter. Binary relicensing one-time fee is $0 (that's "none"), and the binary per-copy fee ranges from $25 to $150, depending on the number of users on the system. Much, much nicer for redistributors. -- Lyle McElhaney {hao, stcvax, brl-bmd, nbires, csu-cs} !denelcor!lmc

Good News, too, for host.EDU sites! The fee for schools is down to $400/CPU. -- Larry Auton (201)386-4272 ihnp4!bonnie!lda

$3 for the source. $25 - $150 for the binaries. Seems that AT&T listens to the people of the USENET after all! Now, lets hope all the vendors get a source copy, port the sucker onto their system and lets dump all these uucp problems once and for all -- maybe in a year or two, the uucp problems will be a thing of the past. Now, about the korn shell....

Good news, if true!
