jerry@oliveb.UUCP (Jerry Aguirre) (06/06/85)
(By the way this is 4.1BSD Unix.)
Regarding my previous bug in the command:
uux '!cmd < system!/tmp/file'
The uucp log entry looks like this
uucp system (6/5-21:18-14040) OK (startup)
jerry system (6/5-21:18-14040) REQUEST (R /tmp/file D.systemRChOM jerry)
jerry system (6/5-21:18-14040) ACCESS (DENIED)
jerry system (6/5-21:18-14040) OK (conversation complete)
Later I received mail with the following error message:
file /usr/spool/uucp/D.systemRChiM on oliveb
access denied
The problem seems to be access to /usr/spool/uucp which does not have
public write access. Shouldn't the above file be:
/usr/spool/uucp/D./D.systemRChiM
so that it goes in the D. subdirectory? Is this a case that the
subdirectory fix added to uucp didn't catch?
