As a part of our evaluation of 212a modem bids, I am seeking any information anyone has as to the reliability, etc., of the Penril 212 modems. I know that they have a fairly good reputation for short-haul synchronous modems, but I know absolutely nothing about them insofar as the 212's are concerned other than that they submitted a most attractive bid. They also submitted specs for an autodial option which seems equivalent to the Ven-Tel for a most attractive price, but, once again I am skeptical as I know nothing of it first hand and it is not yet a production model. Please direct responses either to me or to the net. When the evaluation is finished, I will forward the results to the net.
