[net.dcom] cbosg.2545: 50 PIN AMPHENOL BACKPLANES FOR DATASWITCH

taylor (08/06/82)

We use the 9314 backplanes exclusively, and have had no problems with them.
The data never goes into a cable until it goes into the eia (terminal)
cable. The description in the price list is somewhere between misleading
and wrong. There are actually 16 50-pin connectors on the backplane, so
that each slim plugs in to one. this connector is connected directly via
the pc board which is the backplane to the eia connectors.

I have no idea why their documentation is so unclear. To tell the truth,
I had never looked closely at them until the question arose, as they have
always worked well.
