What we did was to write a program (called "dial") that knows how to dial the MACS and will support multiple modems and multiple dialers. We then just put an execl() call into uucico, cu, and MMDF (our mail system). I will post the program to net.sources. Dial also sees to it that a record is made of the call. Since Dial owns the acu device, no one can make a call without using the "dial" program.
