ABSTRACT
It is useful in number theory to get identities
that express x as sums or differences of k-powers.
The main tool used before was the Tarry-Escott prob-
lem. Recently Vaserstein extended a formula due to
Rao to get better identities. We notice that these
two identities are related to permutation groups. We
develop a theory that allows us to find brand-new
identities, for any representation of any finite
group.
