I recently picked up a copy of Globbo by Allen Varney, published by Steve Jackson Games. It is an interesting game, but a pain to move the pieces around. I got to thinking that a computer version would be a good idea. Does a computer version exist out there? Since I don't have a permanent account on any UNIX system, it would have to be something I could type out for my Atari 800 XL (BASIC). I could maybe translate from other machines if I knew how their graphics etc worked, and I could probably also change from Pascal or Fortran (graphics?) if I had to (again, with help). If there is a public domain version, would somebody please email me a copy. If nothing exists, perhaps some bright programmer with alot of free time could write it up for me and send it my way. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how legal this is (this is why I posted to rec.games.frp--I heard people from SJG read that group--if so, would this be all right?). I purchased the game and I don't intend to sell any copies of anything, but I'm not a law student. What applies here? Thanks in advance for your brilliant replies! :-)

Globbo????? What's Globbo??? Also, Does any other implementation of Car Wars exist, other than Auto Duel, by Origin Systems??? (Auto Duel is pretty sad if ya ask me. You can WIN!! Also, it sadly misses many higher features of Car Wars.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Alexander M.
