We are currently looking for a 'sufficient but few bells and whistles' datascope. We have access (occasionally) to a Dynatech 2000 which is quite nice, but want a scope to call our own. Desirable features are: >Monitor Sync or async at any rate (to 9600), int or ext clock, ascii or ebcdic. >Emulate dte or dce, and have a keyboard to use for emulation. >"Fairly large" buffer, with scrolling through buffer. >"Trap" on character capabilities. >led's to monitor all 25 eia pins, preferably with patching available. We are not requiring programability, tape drive, or bert capabilities. A real keyboard would be nice, but membrane kbds or hex entry is ok. hex display is highly desirable. There seem to be several devices in the $3000 to $4000 range which meet these specs, but I would love to hear from users who have something in this range and their recommendations. You may reply to the net, or I will summarize any responses I receive. Thanks! Steve Taylor North Carolina Educational Computing Service
