The VenTel modem I have at home generates noise which interferes with TV reception in the low-numbered channels (2,4) either due to frequency of those channels or because their signal is weaker. I tried to shield the modem and ground the shielding, and I tried a special filter sold for that purpose (65 db 10KHz-200MHz), both in vain. I now suspect the 1200/2400 Hz audio signal generated by the modem. I called VenTel for help or suggestion, but they deny strongly that their equipment can ever cause any problem. Nice guys... Their equipment is rated Class A (commercial use only, expected to cause interference in home use), so they cannot be blamed anyhow. Any suggestions on how to improve things?
