What X.25 protocol implementations are available for UNIX (incl. 4.1c
and 4.2)?

neufeld (04/28/83)

I am currently working on a X.25 implementation for 4.1c. The code is
mostly written and should be completed sometime this summer. It is
first being tested on a SMI sun, but when thats working we will port
it back to a 780. The hardware for the 780 will be a DMF-32 although
it should work at slower speeds with a DUP. The version of X.25 is
compatable with the 1980 specs (using LAPB) although no datagram or
fast-select is implemented. We are connected to Datapac and so will be
using this network for testing. Fortunately, Datapac does not require
certification. I don"t know how Telenet does certification. I can
send more info on a individual basis.

I vaguely recall that ACC ("Associated?" "Advanced?" Computer Consultants)
announced a card to do X.25 a couple of years ago. They had an HDLC,
LAP/LAPB interface and I think they had an interface that handled everything
up to packet level as well. ACC is the same bunch that builds Arpanet
interfaces of various flavors.

I also remember somebody out at BBN working on X.25 Unix software, though
I don't know what happened with it.
