[net.dcom] request for info on voice over/under data

I am interested in pointers to information on voice over/under data
systems, components, etc., that rely on plain old telephone service
for transmission. I am fairly naive on the subject. I need info at
the level "just finished intro to data comm."

I am especially interested in off-the-shelf products that I might easily
incorporate in the intended application.

If you have had personal experience with products/schemes that you are
willing to share, I can collect and summarize those for the net.
