Spoke with Jim Warner at Anchor Automation about problems with the
Signalman Mark XII modem, especially not sending break. He says he has
a limited number of upgrades available for $40. It consists of a small
board and a new ROM. If interested, you can call him at (213)-997-6493.
Also, a new version called the MARK XII Plus will soon be available.
This will fix BREAK problem and DTR (pin 20) problem (current version
doesn't watch this. Pulling it low should drop carrier). Also will add
a speaker (yea!) and a few other goodies. He wasn't sure about when or
how much, but supposedly will be significantly lower than Hayes Smartmodem.
Probably more along the lines of US Robotics. I guess they will continue
with the current version, sort of as the poor mans 212A modem.
