If I understand what you are trying to do, then consider this alternative. Use SYS$EXAMPLES:MAILUAF.COM to set a forwarding address or use the MAIL SET FORWARD/USER=IEEE command to set a forwarding address. The forwarding address would point to a mail distribution file, such as @IEEE.DIS. Each line of the distribution file would have a username of the people to receive the mail. Then, when mail is sent to IEEE, the IEEE.DIS file is "executed" and mail is sent immediately to each user. While it is probably best to setup a username for each mail established this way, I don't think it is required. That is, the VMSMAIL.DAT file can contain a username that is not in the SYSUAF.DAT file. ...Barron -------
