Here's another solution to the VMS long mail address problem. 1) Create a distribution file: mail_distribution_dir:info-vax.dis which contains the line netmail::"info-vax@kl.sri.com" 2) Define a logical pointing to the distribution file: $ define info-vax "@mail_distribution_dir:info-vax.dis" NOTE: you must use the "" in the log def due to the '@' Including the "@" in the logical def allows users to send mail as if they are sending it down the hall. By putting the long address in a file, I get around the quotes problem in the address while making a logical def. One of duties is to manage a CAE facility, and little items like this help to lessen the load of answering questions for a group of engineers that in some cases don't have a lot of computer expertise. Especially since I have a lot of engineering duties myself. joek -- Joe Kagenski jjk@mitre-bedford.arpa (alt: jjk%vhsic@mitre-bedford.arpa or {decvax, ...}linus!jjk ) (Tel: 617-271-7745 (lab: 3460)) The MITRE Corporation; VHSIC Technical Center - CAE Section MS E095; Burlington Road; Bedford, Ma. 01730
