I am posting this for a colleague. Please reply to me and I will pass it on. Problem with Emulex SC41, Fujitsu Eagles on VAX 8550: Can anyone throw any light on the following problem - While using BACKUP/IMAGE to copy from one 'Eagle' to another we get 'SYSTEM-F-VOLINV Volume is not software enabled' part way through the disk copy. Errlog message - ERL$LOGMSCP 'Unexpected end message', Class Driver /DISK/, MSCP$W_STATUS 'Host buffer access error, Non-existent memory error', followed by Controller reset Our Configuration is: VAX 8550, 20 Mb BI with DWBUA KDB50 KLESI DEBNT Unibus with 1 DMR 1Mb 2 DMC 1/2 Mb 3 DMR 1/4 Mb 4 SC41/MS (no delay Rev F) + 2 Eagles M2351A 5 UDA50 10 micro sec delay We think the problem may be due to controller incompatibility with the Unibus - does anyone have 'Eagles' running OK in this or similar configuration? Well, this is a little more general, but: Has anyone had problems with M2361(A) Eagles? I have heard some nasty things about the drive's reliability. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- BITNET sgf@BROWNCS CSNET sgf@cs.brown.edu ARPANET sgf%cs.brown.edu@relay.cs.net UUCP {ihnp4,allegra}!brunix!sgf
