Help. Problem: LIB$SPAWN fails in batch without comment. Environment: uVMS 4.4, Pascal; on a uVax II w 4MB memory Description: A process which is run from a batch job calls LIB$SPAWN. The spawn does not happen. The completion status is not stored into. Image accounting shows no sign of anything having run. However... if the program is NOT run in batch, everything works fine! input_file and output_file are pointing at 'NL:', all other parameters are := %immed 0. Suspicion: Quotas. But I have set Bytelm up to 40000 and everything else is quite high. Bypass priv makes no difference. Gripe: There should be SOMETHING, SOMEWHERE saying why the system declines to spawn my task. Silently vanishing away is not really acceptable. What works: $ RUN SPAWNER $ SPAWN RUN SPAWNER What doesn't: any of the above in batch. Murphy's Law: A small test program fails to exhibit any problems :-( Any help greatfully appreciated.
