We are running DECnet over a static asynchronous DDCMP line at 9600 baud. All line and circuit parameters have their default values except that the circuit has 4 receive buffers. The connection is used for both file transfer and remote logins. Users complain that when a large file is being transferred, remote interactive response becomes unacceptably slow: for example, screen editing is impossibly painful. Is there any way we can tune DECnet parameters so as to improve the perform- ance, or to favour traffic for remote logins over traffic for file transfer? We are running VMS V4.5 on one host and MicroVMS V4.5 on the other.
