The local network of the Eindhoven University of Technology is based on a midsplit broadband network with currently over 3000 outlets. Communications is done with the Sytek LocalNet 20 network. We are planning to operate IEEE 802.3 ethernet on the broadband network to connect VAX's , Sun, Apollo, baseband ethernets and PC's. 1.Is it possible to connect a Chipcom 8023S or 8023MS directly via a transceiver cable to a LAN100 bridge ? Who has experience with it ? 2.Who has experience with operating a large number of Chipcom modems on one broadband network ? 3.Is any product known to connect a (IBM) PC directly to IEEE 802.3 broadband ethernet instead of e.g. via 3Com board + Chipcom 8023S ? I have no subscribtion on INFOVAX. Aart Langen Computing Centre Eindhoven University of Technology Eindhoven, Netherlands RCAART@HEITHE5.bitnet rcaart@eutrc3.uucp
