Does anyone have any idea how many installed private data networks
there are? I'm not talking about LANs or commercial services like TYMNET
and TELENET. I'm looking for numbers on campus-wide networks, so-called
"metropolitan area networks," and multicity intracompany data networks.
Any help or pointers to sources would be greatly appreciated.
