[comp.os.vms] 3rd Party Field Service question

        We are currently considering going to McDonnell Douglas field for
hardware service on computers here at Columbia University's Engineering
School.  We have a variety of vendors that McDonnell Douglas has claimed
they can service:  DEC VAX's and 20's, SUN, Silicon Graphics IRIS's, HP,
etc.  There is enough equipment here for McDonnell Douglas to have "resident"
service personel on campus.  Most current hardware contracts are with the
vendor's field service.  We are looking to save some $'s as well as possibly
improve service.

        I would like to get comments from those of you that may have had
experience with McDonnell Douglas (good and bad).  Any comments on alternate
3rd party service organizations would also be appreciated.
