I am distributing a utility I wrote some time ago which lets you play games with some of the XQP QIO's and bash file attributes and such. One thing you could try is using FILESET to change the end-of-file block and offset and for the file with the allocated space. (I forgot who asked for help on that). The DCL archive is about 56 blocks long. Hope that's not too big. It's in VAX MACRO, so everyone can build and use it. It has a .CLD interface. See the source for the command qualifiers and parameters. I don't guarantee you won't ream yourself with this thing, so consider yourself forewarned. I don't even remember if I finished it, so maybe something in it doesn't work. I use it quite frequently for changing file attributes and such, however. I removed all the tabs in the file, so the MACRO is gross (I like using tabs in MACRO). Sorry about that, but some brain-dead mailer somewhere screwed over my PTYDRIVER distribution by removing all the tabs and causing everyone (I think, someone tell me different!) to get checksum failures when un-archiving it... /Kevin Carosso kvc@engvax.scg.hac.com Hughes Aircraft Co. kvc%engvax@oberon.usc.edu
