[comp.os.vms] question on how to make an editor timeout.

AGNEW@VCUVAX.BITNET (Brainwave Surfer) (07/29/87)

Dear All in Netland:

I have a need to install a timeout into TPU such that when the edit
session sits idle, TPU will sense it and exit, saving the edit.
Yes, I know there's an EXIT command, but this application is in an
Intensive Care Unit, and the nurses and doctors are not interested in
  being nice USERS!!!
If anyone knows a way to do this in TPU (preferably) or a VAX
native mode editor or TECO (acceptable) PLEASE reply!!!
Replies can be send to AGNEW@VCUVAX on the Bitnet. Direct replies
would be nice as I don't subscribe to INFO-VAX, but I will post the
answer if I get enough inquires. All inquiries will be answered!!

                              Jim
