I recently posted a message about my experiences with System Industry disks. I have received numerous mail messages asking for the configuration I was referring to. The disks that I have had problems with are SI 9733 disks with an SI 9900 controller being used by two microVAXes and a VAXstation. The problem does not appear to be in the Fuji drives and not related to the Fuji Super Eagle problems. I have not personally had experience with SI disks on a larger VAX systems although I did talk to others who had when I was making my recommendation about disks for our 8650 on an HSC50. I have received some letters from people who have said that they have other System Industry disks and that they run just fine. Other letters I have received were not as kind and had expressed similar experiences as to the ones I have had. As always, one can not rely on just one persons misfortune as a valid test for a product. All I would say to anyone contemplating a purchase is be careful.
