In a recent submission, Mr. Christoph D. Gatzka stated:
"...If accounting is enables for both subprocess and process
termination the cpu time (added to the master process upon
subprocess termination) will be accounted twice (once for the
subprocess and a second time when the user logs out)..."
This is simply NOT TRUE!! VMS does NOT accumulate master and sub-process
accounting data into a single accounting record. VMS records ONLY those
resources consumed by a process, and that process alone, in its accounting
records.
I suspect that Mr. Gatzka is confusing this with VMS's pooled quotas,
where certain quotas (such as CPU-time) are shared by a master process
and all its sub-processes.
