There is a version of make for VMS available along with the GNU Emacs that I received. It was written by Jim Corbett (did I get the name right ?) Probably you could FTP it from the nearest site that has it, or I could send you the program, if you don't find one Anil Khullar {Ph.D. Prog in Psychology C.U.N.Y. Grad. The Spring '86 DECUS VAX SIG tape has a Make for VMS. It is in the directory [VAX86A.NCAR.MAKE], and seems to have come from the National Center for Atmospheric Research. We use it with good results. Among other nice things it handles entries in libraries correctly -- MMS, at least from the documentation, seems to want you to keep the .OBJ's around, but NCAR's Make does not. This may well be the same Make that others have referenced as living in comp.sources.something, as I think I saw an earlier version of it on the net ages ago, but I don't know for sure...
