I have a small problem with terminal settings, and I wonder if anyone
else has noticed the same phenomena:
I have an account on two different VAXen. One is my main computer and the
other (remote computer) I reach from the main computer via DECNET. On the
main computer I have the following terminal setting in my login.com:
$ set terminal /line_edit
while on the remote computer I have for various reasons
$ set terminal /noline_edit
The problem is that when SETting HOST to the remote computer, my LOCAL
terminal settings are changed: After logging out from the remote computer
computer SHOW TERMINAL on the local computer says "No Line Editing". Some
related information: It also affects other terminal settings than Line
Edit. And it only happens with "standard" DECNET access (SET HOST); with
PSI access (SET HOST /X29) the local terminal settings are unchanged.
Why does this happen, and is there anything I can do to prevent it?
