Greetings all, I have just installed CMU TCP/IP. The product installed very easily and I have Telnet and FTP working fine. I am having some trouble with Smail though; it mangles the FROM: field into something which looks similar to the /OWNER field of the UAF record. Is this supposed to happen ? If so, can I prevent it ? Also, what is the EXPAND.TXT file for ? Is it just for mail forwarding a la VMSMAIL.DAT ? The documentation with the product seems to be aimed at people who are used to the TEK TCP/IP software, and understand what TCP/IP is all about. If anyone could tell me about how servers are implemented (i.e. how an incoming call is directed to the correct server) I would be grateful. I am also interested in a product called Software Tools Mailer, which is apparently public domain. Does anyone know where I could get a copy of this ? Many thanks (especially to the folks at CMU for providing the results of their work to all us impoverished academics). As a footnote, I am grateful for the help given to me re my query about user written symbionts. I have got a symbiont working for a CALCOMP plotter (stop-and-wait protocol rather than XON/XOFF) in single threaded mode. I am still unsure why my AST version access violates, but I don't have time to investigate it further. If anyone wants a copy let me know. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tom Wade HEAnet: twade@ccvax.ucd.hea.irl Systems Programmer Ean: twade@ccvax.ucd.irl Computer Center PSI: PSI%+27243154000712::TWADE University College Dublin Telex: (0500) 91196 UCD EI Ireland.
