The problem with incrementing a seven digit REAL variable is that the floating point iis only accurate to 6 digits. The seventh is down in the mud where incrementing may produce inaccurate results. I imagine that the smallest increment (1 bit) in the floating point format produces a change of 4 in the decimal equivalent. R.
