Sorry to burden the net with this, but the mailer at crash.UUCP has a very weird idea of how to parse mail so I can't get through. To Jamie Hanrahan: I was thinking of uuslave when I mentioned that there was a uucp clone for VMS. I am searching for the sources as fast as I can, but until things here stabilize a bit, I may not have much time to look for which tape I put it on. Have faith -- I am searching for it, though. I know it's here somewhere.... To others: I wonder if there would be a way to write low-level SLIP routines that are specific to VMS and then hack Phil Karns' excellent TCP/IP package to use the VMS specific routines. This would give a potential VMS-net real Internet facilities like full FTP, SMTP, and all the goodies that TCP/IP provides. Admittedly, it'd be slow over a dialup line, but so is uucp (no flames please -- I'd rather not bother with dumping them) and it would prevent all sorts of evils like bang addressing and other ickyness.
