[comp.os.vms] CMU/TCP

SteveG@MAINE.BITNET (Steve E. Goldsmith) (09/30/87)

Greetings,
I installed CMU TCP/IP on two microvaxen last week. I have encountered
several problems with the software tho, maybe someone out there can help:

The LPR_SERVER, SMAIL GENERIC_MAIL and NETWORK_MAIL seem not to work.
The problem is the same on all three of these, when one starts the
QUEUE you get an ACP file not found error (they appear to be trying to attach
to an IPxx: device, but cant?) If I start the NETWORK_MAIL queue on CSA0: (
(which is a printer spool) it comes up, mail transfers, and goes straight to
the printer. Any clues what I am doing wrong here?
 System info:
The vaxen are a GPX and a uVaxII running vms4.5, with DEQUNA cards.
The thing able to send SMTP mail to the uVaxen is a Sun3/50 on the
same ethernet. The sun can't send files to the LPR_SERVER no matter how
I start the LPR on the Vaxen.

Here's another one:
From the SUN, TELNET uVax works fine, except sometimes the output
stops, and input is frozen (the vax is sending some sort of xoff to
the sun telnet and everything locks) any idea how to make this not
happen?

And the last problem:
The VAX nameserver seems to not work well at all. The first
TCP open to a host works, subsequent ones fail. NAMSRV goes RWAST
and all opens have to be specified explicitly by network address to
get any connection established.

Help/tips/cash awards of $10,000 or better would be greatly
appreciated.
Reply to news group (don't flame me for saying that); there seems
to be enuf demand for CMU/TCP help around here judging from previous
postings.

Thanx,
/Steve
