the problem: we are operating a reference system serving people across Canada, and we would like to offer the service in both official languages. (French and English). It is easy to change DCL commands with login command files assigning a French word to an English one. However, this does not work inside of applications anymore. Mail for example always uses its native English prompts. I am looking for a way to provide those prompts in French, too, without having to acquire source for VMS. Is there a way to modify the prompts, even if there have to be two (oh boy!) mail processes running. Being somewhat new at the game I know that images can be patched, but I have no idea what tools I would need. I sent this same request to bitnet sites in France, Switzerland and Quebec, but all responding sites replied that they were using the English interface only.
