[net.music] If you thought there was too much Kate Bush before...

todd@scirtp.UUCP (Todd Jones) (09/12/85)

Oh my god, I'm flamin'!!!!!!!

If you thought there was too much Kate Bush drivel before,
keep in mind she is releasing her first album in 3? years
(I'm sure the Bushaholics will give me the figure in nanoseconds!).
Now imagine the deluge from Doug Alan and his Katelusting cohorts!

I really enjoy Ms. Bush's music, BUT I'M SICK OF HEARING
ABOUT HER. There are plenty of people making experimental
pseudo-pop music out there (Eno, XTC, Material, etc...)
and we shouldn't be forced to discuss the lyrical implications
of the photo credits from a Peter Gabriel album she sang
backup vocals on!

We already have two reviews and the album ain't even out yet!
One review professed to be short, but when I attempted to read
it and saw that the first screenfull was only 6% I puked.
BRGAACK!!!! C'mon fellas! put down your Kate Bush fold-outs
and get yer hand off yer weenies! Geez! C'mon! mumble, mumble!

Okay, I grudgingly accept your right to talk about anything
you want, but show some mercy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus fucking christ! I can't even post a goddamn album review without
some jerk complaining!

For your information, the 60+ "Katelusting cohorts" now have their own
mailing list and 95% of what I have to say now goes to that. The
bandwidth of the mailing list is probably double what net.music is these
days. You guys missed a really nice discussion on Breugal and Bosche
and right now a nice discussion on the Sex Pistols and Killing Joke is
going on. There certainly a big enough variety of interests in
"love-hounds" that I see little reason to read this newsgroup any longer
-- since it seems to consist of little but hate mail to me. (I'm sure I
can get Jim Hofmann to send me his stuff directly. And if anyone has
anything to say about artistic music, you are welcome to forward it to
"love-hounds@mit-eddie".)

So long and thanks for all the fish!
