I just talked to TI's service department about a problem with the OmniLaser 2115. Their marketing staff has been claiming you can get 20,000 copies per OPC. The service staff tells me this is true, IFF you print the same page 20,000 times. If, on the other hand, you print (as most people would) a different page each time, the OPC has to make 3 revolutions per page, so you only get 7000-9000 pages per OPC (20,000 is the number of revolutions the OPC can make before it wears out, NOT the number of pages you can print per OPC). We at Caltech are now stuck with a printer that costs ~3 times as much to operate as we expected; if you're thinking of buying one, you might want to bear this in mind.
