Can someone out there give me a quick answer to the following? A few years back, I had to write a routine that would allow an image running with CMKRNL privilege to chage it's UIC/USERNAME by poking at the PCB. My macro was/is very rough, but i seem to remember seeing something in a piece of DEC code (it MAY have been DECUS code) that basically said 'play around in this area at your own risk - DEC may choose to maim the current layout at any time...' My questions are: 1) Is it indeed such a bad idea to diddle these protected areas 2) Where can I get the original DECUS (i believe) code that did this? Thnx for any help you can provide.
