For the past few months I've been getting an occasional REFCNTNEG bugcheck, which I believe is provoked by a large image (12K virtual pages) doing an image dump. This process has a sizable global section mapped into its address space, and if another process unmaps the section while the image is dumping it will sometimes produce the bugcheck. I've not dug through the dumps much (memory management problems are a b*tch ;-), so I don't have any more clue than that (I am 100% certain, however, about how to provoke this behavior). [not really expecting an answer...] Has anyone else seen this ? gkn ---------------------------------------- Internet: GKN@SDS.SDSC.EDU Bitnet: GKN@SDSC Span: SDSC::GKN (27.1) USPS: Gerard K.
