[comp.os.vms] Slip for VMS

garrett@udel.EDU (Joel Garrett) (11/14/87)

Does anyone know of a SLIP driver that will work with wollongong win/vx 3.0
and VMS v4.5 and up? We usually use a DEUNA interface, linked to the rest
of our college's network with a DEREP, but we have been having apparent
problems with our fiber optic cabling. There are several serial lines
pulled to the system we usually link through, so we wondered if SLIP could
be used to give us at least a lower-speed connection until the DEREP line
can be re-opened. Maybe TWG has a SLIP-based driver available that we
just didn't know about? Thanks in advance for any help you can give us.
Using kermit and dialup modems for remote access is starting to get old
(not to mention not being able to get to all the Usenet newsgroups and
arpa digests as easily as we used to ;-)
