As the following summary of my mail file shows, of the 100 messages
to INFO-VAX over the past week, 60 are bogues error messages
which brain-damaged mailers erroneously sent to the entire INFO-VAX
list rather than to the SMTP-sender of the message.
This is a ridiculous waste of network resources. If you need a lesson
on Internet mail, ask me or read RFC 821.
I hereby volunteer my services to the INFO-VAX administrators to aid them
in removing any sites from the INFO-VAX list if the site generates more
than say 5 of these messages in a week. For that matter, I have a
non-braindamaged VMS mailer which could easily be set up to filter
messages which pass through INFO-VAX to remove these bogus messages.
