Hello netland, I've got a bit of a problem that I'm not sure which direction to take. I have a MicroVAX I running MicroVMS 4.6, 2 meg of memory and an RD53. In setting up accounts on the machine I've COPY(ied) in AUTHORIZE the USER account into 4 different names. I changed identifiers, and the other account-specific items, but did not change any of the resource limits. I logged into those accounts to test them and while going through a series of compiles (25 compiles to be exact, COBOL to make it wretch) and during the third or fourth compile the terminal would hang. I would try to *INTERUPT* but it would still hang. I log into the console and do a SHOW SYSTEM and see that that process's state is RWMBOX, meaning the process is in Resource Wait for a mail box. I tried to STOP/ID the process and the process would evaporate from the interactive user list, but would still hold the terminal and show up in the system process list. The only recourse I've had (up until this morning) is to reboot. This morning I found the note in the System Management guide that indicates that BYTLM might have something to do with it. "The buffer space is for buffered I/O operations and for the creation of temporary mailboxes", yet when I tripled the amount in the UAF the process would still hang. Has anyone run into this before? Has anyone got any ideas on what's going on? This only happens to the usernames that I copied from USER. SYSTEM has had no such problems. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
