If this was a problem with 4.4, it appears to have been fixed in 4.5. We have a setup here where nearly all of our uVAXes have no printers directly connected; they print via DECnet tasks onto those that do. These tasks are SPAWNed /nowait so that people don't have to wait for the job to complete (handshaking, copying if needed, etc.). I have just checked on one of these uVAXes. It has regularly a dozen people on it, has no printers attached, and has been up for 98 days (!). Only 1357 SRP's are flagged as "in use". Since this results in about 14/day, and I am sure that more printing is done than that (not to mention that other things require SRP's as well), that 3rd packet must be being released properly. Either that or the problem only shows up when done with /wait, and that I find hard to believe. So upgrading to 4.5 on your uVAXes should fix the problem if that's what it is.
