Hi, Many thanks to those who responded (so quickly!) to my problem with hung terminal ports. ALFMAINT solved the problem. To Carl Lydik: I'm in agreement, this feature should be disabled in future releases of VMS. It could be very useful AFTER one has learned the ropes of VMS. Also, one terminal was not on the ALFMAINT list. TXA3: was temporarily setup for file xfers to/from our pdp-11 (RSTS). I set its ACL to (IDENTIFIER=TERMCTL,ACCESS=READ+WRITE+CONTROL) and granted the UAF identifier TERMCTL to two VMS accounts. Apparently this erased the alfmaint assignment of USER to TXA3:. Is this a VMS bug of do granted UAF identifiers override (and erase) ALFMAINT entries?
