I would first like to thank everyone who has responded to my questions in the past. On to the latest problem... We have just installed CMU's TCP/IP V6.2 on our cluster. After spending lots of time editing the .config files, we still have not gotten it to work right. The daemon dies completely when trying to telnet using a node name, and returns an error (like event didn't happen) when using node adresses. However, we can telnet from one of our unix machines to the VMS machine. Things seem reasonable ok going that way. Likewise, we can login using ftp from a unix machine to vms, but when trying to do useful things (ls,get,put,etc) it fails. The documentation we got was not particularly useful in pointing us in the right direction to solve these problems. Has anyone else had similar problems? Any ideas what might be wrong? Does anyone have an email address or phone number of someone at CMU who might be able to help us? thanks for your help! roz
