A While back, someone posted a query regarding how to go about "fixing" the lk201 keyboard that comes with VAXstations so that the escape is something reasonable (other than ^[). I never saw a reply, but didn't have a VAXstation, so I didn't care. I recently acquired a VAXstation, and I couldn't stand it, so I fixed the escape problem. I have moved the keys around like the vt320 lets you. I put escape on the "`~" key, "`~" on the "<>" key, ",<" on the ",," key, and ".>" on the ".." key. My fix is to create a "fixed_n_american" option in the language/keyboard- setup/set-up-the-workstation menu. Anyone who would like this fix is more than welcome to it. Send requests to DSMITH@OREGON.BITNET. As a new VAXstation owner, I was initially disappointed by the apparant lack of demo software. However, if you read the fine print in the installation manual, there is some that comes with VWS. Use VMSINSTAL to restore VWSDEMO. There is some pretty neat stuff there including a clock/performance meter, a game, and a few other goodies. Dale Smith Bitnet: dsmith@oregon.bitnet Voice: (503) 686-4394
