I've recently upgraded a microVAX II running VMS V4.3 and fortran V4.5 to VMS V4.6 and fortran V4.7. One of the codes our laboratory uses now has a peculiar error. The code ran fine under the old system, however, after re-compiling it with the new fortran under V4.6 VMS, it has a run-time error which I've been able to pinpoint, yet have no explanation as for it's behaviour. The essence of the problem is that an address of a function call gets zapped and the program crashes with an access violation. Since it is a plain vanilla function call and the exact same program ran fine under the old system I don't have the slightest clue. Is anyone out there running VMS V4.6 with Fortran V4.7 without problems? Is anyone aware of a problem with Fortran V4.7? Any help would be appreciated greatly. Donald A.
