I just saw your message on info-vax. You know there is a public domain version of yacc produced by the Free Software Foundation. It is called bison and you cat get its source code for free via ftp from prep.ai.mit.edu . You will find it in the directory /u2/emacs in a file called bison.tar . The occurrences of #ifdef VMS commands in the source suggests to me that the authors intended it to be portable to VMS although it will do anything on UNIX that yacc will do. I am presently trying to port bison to VMS and would be glad to compare notes with you or anyone else about the problems which are involved in doing so. I am also posting this to info-vax to drum up whatever interest there might be in this. Sincerely, Allan Adler ADLER1@BRANDEIS.BITNET
