If the problem is indeed fixed in V4.7, you'll fix it.  The install leads you
thru updating the console hard disk.  (Actually, this in the "after the
upgrade" part of the paper document, so don't miss it!)  You will need a
scratch RX50 floppy.

For the record, my V4.7 kit arrived, and installed with no obvious problems
yet.  It looks very maintenancey.  I do not have LAVC, which seem to be
heavily addressed by the update, so I can't tell you if it fixes whatever it
is supposed to fix.  It's a nice short install, not like, say, V4.6.
