[comp.os.vms] ANU News available for Anonymous FTP and other distribution

SYNFUL@DRYCAS.CLUB.CC.CMU.EDU (Marc Shannon) (01/20/88)

Been waiting for the ever-rumoured Australian NEWS program?

Heard that there's a new release, namely 4.0?

WANT TO GET A COPY?

Well, now's your chance. If you want to get it via Anonymous FTP on the
Internet:

       Get it from: DRYCAS.CLUB.CC.CMU.EDU [128.2.232.11]
       Login as: ANONYMOUS
       Password: GUEST
       Files are in: DUB0:[ANU_NEWS]

These files are the original backup savesets from the tape. They have been
encoded with MFTU to make sure that the transfer will work properly. A
copy of MFTU.COM (a self-unpacking procedure) is included so that you can
decode the files on your end.

For those of you who cannot get access to FTP, there is an automatic list
set up where you may place your address so that you will receive one of the
file sets mailed out later. To do this, send a message to LISTSERV@CMUCCVMA
(on Bitnet) saying:

       SUBSCRIBE ANU-NEWS John Q. Doe

(Please do use your real name, not John Q. Doe.) The list "appears" (from
a LIST command) to "not yet be operational"; this list is only for storing
the addresses and is not used for the actual distribution...ie. it's only
playing secretary for me.

Any questions should be sent to SYNFUL@DRYCAS.CLUB.CC.CMU.EDU (DRYCAS on
Bitnet).
