I posted this once before but got no response. This is my last cry for help. Has anyone else had problems with Gnu emacs under VMS 4.6? We were running version 18.47 just fine under VMS 4.5, but under 4.6 we get Fatal error (11). %SYSTEM-F-ABORT, abort %TRACE-F-TRACEBACK, symbolic stack dump follows .... %SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO, access violation... Does anyone know what has happened? Can I fix 18.47, or do I have to get 18.48? Any help will be appreciated. P. S. I have tried to recompile Emacs, but with the new VAX C RTL, some names are multiply defined. Is there an easy way to fix this? It's been nearly a month since I tried setting up GNUEMACS here, so I'm not sure of the message. -------

When we installed V4.6, we also got a "SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO" error when we ran GNU EMACS 18.41.46. We just relinked, and the problem went away. We didn't try to recompile. Hope this helps. ------- -------
