[comp.os.vms] Disks for VAX/VMS

andrewg@comp.vuw.ac.nz (Andrew Greer) (02/21/88)

We are evaluating a number of disks for our LAVC which is our student computing
system (which consists of a MicroVAX II (16MB, 2 RA81's) and 5 VS II/RC (9MB,
1 RD53)).

The disks we are looikng at are:

    Control Data 9720X eight-inch module drive, 368, 491, 736 MB unformatted
    Toshiba MK-280F series 510MB unformatted.
    Fujitsu Eagle Model M2351
    Fujitsu M2344K 8" 690MB
    Digital RA81

All the Non-Digital drives have Webster WQSMD disk controllers.

If anyone has any experience with any of these disk drives or the controller
I would much appreciate hearing from you.

Also if anyone has any experience with the on-line disk defragmenter
DISKKEEPER I would also be interested in hearing from you.

Please mail to me directly rather than to the net.

  Thanks in advance.
