I have a couple of VMSMAIL Questions:
1) In 4.7 Microvms i see that there is a reference to a file called
SYS$SYSTEM:VMSMAIL_PROFILE.DATA
in MAIL.EXE. Does anyone have any idea what this file
is for and how to use it? Just creating an empty file by this
name causes MAIL to abort with
%MAIL-E-INVPROFILE, invalid mail profile format encountered
This reference does not appear in 4.5 VMS.
2) Is there any way to specify a "DEFAULT" mail protocol?
I am currently using system logicals of the form
MAIL$PROTOCOL_EDU "%EUROPA::""27="""
MAIL$PROTOCOL_IN "%EUROPA::""27="""
to force VMSMail to bind to mail11 on our ultrix/DECnet machine
which can utilize sendmail for routing foreign mail
Unfortunately, there seems to be a plethora of Domain names that
can get prepended on the foreign mail Return addresses, and i
really don't want to have 800 system logicals defined to support
them. I'm hoping for something like:
MAIL$PROTOCOL_ "%EUROPA::""27="""
But this doesn't work. Any Ideas?
Thanks,
