Come on guys, give me a little credit. Of course I'm using the shareable library. In fact, all our own kernel stuff is built as shareable libraries. My problem is in the debug image of the application proper. If its true that the debugger retains all the multiple debug records for each identifier included in each object file, as someone wrote, then DEC is correct in saying that VMS is not a development environment for C applications. Somehow both Apollo/Aegis and Unix get around this problem! I repeat my question then: (1) Is there anyway I can patch the image to get rid of the unnecessary debug records? (2) Does anyone know of an alternative VMS/C development package? [acerbic comment on underestimating the intelligence of News readers omitted here] aharon shtull-trauring aharon@wisdom.bitnet
